BIRTH DOULA SUPPORT SERVICE DESCRIPTION
Servicing families that live in North Vancouver, Vancouver, New Westminster and Burnaby
Unlimited phone, text, and email support from the time of hire until early postpartum. 2 prenatal visits (2-3hrs each) in person, or virtual.

BIRTH ATTENDANCE
Available 24/7 from the time of hire until your baby arrives.
Regular communication during early labor, joining you at home or the hospital when you need extra hands-on support.
Ensure your birth preferences are known to the hospital staff or home birth team and remind you of your options when decisions arise.
A doula bag filled with tools to enhance your comfort and create your ideal birth environment including the use of a TENS machine ($75 value) massage, and movement.
Remind you to breathe, rest, move, hydrate, eat, and stay calm.
Use of birth pool if desired ($150 value)

POSTPARTUM SUPPORT
Stay with you until you are comfortably settled, exploring feeding your baby, and your own needs as well as your family's are met.
For home births, I ensure the space remains cozy and clean, and assist with any immediate cleanup.
Help with the first feeding, newborn care, and ensuring the baby and new parent(s) are comfortable and nourished post-birth.
Record labor notes and timeline. This can be useful to reference post-birth if you would like to recall or unpack your birth experience.
Capture first photos with your baby and photos or videos of the labor and birth process if desired.
One 2-hour postpartum visit. Comprehensive, calm, and confident support for feeding and basic baby care. Focusing on lactation education with a gentle and supportive approach. ($300 value)
Assistance with early bonding, empowering you in your choices and experiences.
Referrals to community resources and practitioners as needed
